Since 2018, China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Express Co., Ltd. Urumqi Branch have actively responded to market demand and jointly launched a number of new transportation services. They made use of the high speed EMUs running between Urumqi, Lanzhou and Xi'an to open up the logistics transportation corridor for e-commerce enterprises in the three cities, and provide customers with "door-to-door" and "warehouse-to-warehouse" whole-journey logistics services, forging the brand of "Silk Road HSR Express".
During this year's "11-11" e-commerce golden week, in addition to No. 8 car of D2712/2711 high speed passenger EMU (Urumqi to Lanzhou West) which is normally used for cargo transport, China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd. will allocate additional No. 8 car in D2706/2701 high speed passenger EMU for freight transport, further increasing the transportation capacity and smoothing the logistics corridor in northwestern China.
This year, China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Express Co., Ltd. Urumqi Branch have further expanded their business scope of "HSR + express", and dispatched baggage cars in 25 through conventional trains and 12 conventional trains within their management to "11-11" express freight, providing customers with ordinary express freight, cargo express freight and other services. China Railway Urumqi Group Co., Ltd. has established an efficient and convenient railway express logistics network to provide e-commerce enterprises with more diversified, efficient and fast logistics services, so that more products can be transported on express trains and sold to the whole country.
